Heists, Capers, and Sketchy Types – An Appreciation of Crime Fiction Genres

This blog focuses on the crime fiction genres of heists and capers and the sketchy people that inhabit those worlds.

By no means do I consider myself an expert in these genres in any way.  I haven’t read every book or seen every movie. But that was the point.

I intend to explore the different book series, novels, films, and shows in these (criminally) under-appreciated genres focusing on the story from the criminal’s point of view. There is a lot of good stuff about bad people out there.

This is a place to discuss classic novels in the genre, great films, terrific television shows, and anything else I can think of including.  I’m discovering all new ways of telling these stories by blending different genres together, and I look forward to showing how these genres have evolved over the years.

I’m an author as well. My first book, “How to Steal a Truck Full of Nickels” was published in 2015.  My second book, “Burn One Down: A Bad Apples Caper” was published on June 15, 2018.

Welcome to my blog, gang! Let’s have some fun.
